Manufacturing process
Here's how we manufacture a model rocket BnB, that's Bigger 'n Better!
"
The first kit we produced, The Arachnid!
The motor mount centering rings and thrust blocks for the engine tube (in this case both 18 and 24mm) are cut out of basswood. The white motor mount tube is cut to size on a lathe, and the metal motor retaing clip is added to this kit, and then sealed. Next the set of 8 fins cut on the crossgrain, this kit uses a right trapazoidal fin design made out of 1/8th inch balsa to keep the model rocket's weight low yet still strong. They are then sealed in a poly bag to prevent moisture exposure. Now we assemble the model's parachute kit, including: highly reflective mylar foil precut octagon, the 4 shroud lines, 8 plastic re-enforcement rings to prevent any tearing during use, elastic shock cord, and Kevlar® ejection protective pad. Finally the kit uses model rocket body tube sizes bt-55 / bt-50 / bt-20 and nose cone, along with all other parts are added to the bag, along with moisture absorbers to prevent any water from affecting the kit. And... the model rocket building kit is ready for you! View video here |
Kit Number 2, Boost Glider!
First is the wings, and stabilzers which are laser cut out of 1/8th inch balsa. The motor mount centering rings and thrust blocks for the bt-20 (18mm) engine tube are cut out of basswood. The wing alignment jig / display stand is also cut out of basswood. The white motor mount tube is cut to size on a lathe, and the metal motor retaing clip is added to this kit, and then sealed. All the components, inlcuding: Fueslage, body tube, nose cone, recovery system and more are all organized and sealed into individual plastic bags with moisture absorbers. Finally the kit is sealed and ready for you to build! Veiw video here |
Our 3rd kit off the production line, Khufu's Pyramid!
First we lasercut the four body panels out of balsa. (Who needs fins? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ )
Then we cut the motor centering rings and thrust block, since this kit uses rear ejection there is a extra notch on one of the rings for the shock cord to pass through.
The launch lug and motor retaining clip are also added to these bags.
Next the clay is measured by weight and sealed in a bag, then inserted into the bt-50 / 24mm motor tube to help the tube keep proper shape during shipment.
The motor kit and all other small parts are placed inside the main body tube, aswell.
The cover card is printed and cut to size, and instructions guide are printed, stapled and folded.
Finally all of the parts are placed in the bag along with moisture absorbers, and then sealed and ready to be shipped!

Kit number 4 , Space Speedster!
First we lasercut the foam wings.
Next we us a resin 4k 3d printer that produces the custom nosecones out of translucent red.
The body tube, and nose cone are nestled inside the foam of which the wings are cut, to protect the tube.
The covercard, and finskins are cut to size.
All the parts of the kit are placed in the bag along with water absorbers and sealed shut, ready for you to open back up!
